What is the purpose of Contest Poker?

The purpose of Contest Poker is to provide a site where recreational as well as serious poker players can hone their poker skills without risking their own bankrolls, yet still be able to qualify for exciting prizes available in our Gift Redemption Center.

Is it true? Is playing on Contest Poker absolutely free?

Yes. We have a basic membership which entitles players to register with us, get 1,000 chips to play with, and play in our free multi-table tournaments and sit and go’s.

What actual value do chips have?

When you register you are given 1,000 chips to play with. These can be used as entry fees into freeroll tournaments and sit and go’s, in which the prize pools are made up of tickets. Chips have no cash value. Tickets can be used to redeem for prizes in our Gift Redemption Center.

What happens if I run out of chips?

When you register on the site, you are given 1,000 chips to play with. Then, on the first day of every month, all active players are automatically given 1,000 chip replenishment. Tournaments and sit and go’s will have chip buy in’s ranging from 3 chips to 25 chips. We have designed the initial chip allotment and replenishment system so that if you play decently well, you should have enough chips to last the entire month. If you do in fact run out of chips before your first of month replenishment date, you can buy 1,000 chips for $20 so you can keep playing for the prizes. We also have another option for players who run out of chips. These are called Donkey Tournaments and are described below.

What is a Donkey Tournament?

In an effort to keep the level of play high on our site, we do not offer automatic reloads of chips when players run out. In the event you do run out of chips before your monthly automatic replenishment, you can qualify to play in a Donkey Tournament that we run in the last few days of each month for players who are totally out of chips. These tournaments require zero chip buy in, and the prize pool is made up of a lower number of chips so that final table winners can then play in a real tournament. Donkey Tournament schedules are announced in the main lobby of the poker software.

How do I buy chips?

We accept major credit cards and Paypal.

How long do I have to use my tickets to redeem my prizes?

Tickets won have similar expiration policies as some frequent flyer mile programs and have an expiration date of one year.

How do I redeem my tickets for prizes?

You simply visit our Gift Redemption Center where you can see what prizes you qualify for based on your ticket total. Then, you select the gift you’d like and buy it online in much the same way as an online shopping cart. The different shipping or delivery terms are described in each product.

What if I want to use my tickets to start a funded online poker account at one of the sponsoring sites?

You must use the link in the Gift Redemption Center to sign up for that account. then you can enter the Bonus Code we give you when you redeem your tickets and your account will be funded with that number of real money chips on that site.
