Contest Poker Rules and Policies
• Players must be 18 years old to play on Contest Poker. Although we do not require verification at time of account registration, we do require proof of age at time of prize redemption in Gift Redemption Center. Players who have won enough Tickets to qualify for a prize but cannot prove their age by emailing a valid photo ID in name of account holder will forfeit the prize. No exceptions.
• When players open a free account, they are given 1,000 chips as a starting balance. These chips only have one purpose which is to provide buy ins to the various tournaments and sit and go’s.
• Each active player gets a 1,000 chip reload once per month on their anniversary date of joining. These 1,000 chips are intended to last a player a full 30 days. If they lose these 1,000 chips before their automatic reload, they have three choices as follows: 1) Purchase 1,000 more chips for $20, or 2) Play in the “Donkey Tournaments” which are held daily, in which you can enter with no buy in and the prize pool is a small amount of chips to final table, or 3) Choose to wait until they get their automatic reload on their registration date monthly anniversary date.
• To be considered active, a player must’ve played in a minimum of 30 tournaments in the previous month. Players who are considered inactive do not get their monthly reloads. .
• If a player busts out of chips before his automatic reload date and would like more added, he can purchase 1,000 chips for $20 so he can continue to compete for prizes..
• Each tournament will have a limit to the number of players allowed to participate. This is clearly stated in tournament lobby.
• Registration to the tournaments will start 15 minutes before the tournament start time. We do this to decrease the no show ratio of players.
• Normal poker rules apply. Players that collude or otherwise cheat will forfeit their prizes.
• Winners are given Winner’s Codes to redeem at sponsors’ sites.
• Some prizes in redemption center are limited to certain countries. See redemption center for details.
• Please read tournament rules and prize pool before playing. There are different kinds of tournament buy ins and prize pools available on the site. Although most tournaments will award either tickets or chips to the winners, some sponsors run satellites where players must win a series of satellite tournaments to win part of the prize pool.
• All tournaments are No Limit Texas Hold’em. We believe in deep stack tournaments so that the skillful player will have time to let his skill show. Our standard tournaments rules are as follows: 2,000 starting chips, 20 hand levels, starting blinds at 5/10. Standard tournament rules will apply.
• In the event that a player is disconnected due to internet problems during play of a game, there is disconnect protection. Your hand will be considered “all in” and you will qualify for the part of the pot that was realized prior to the disconnection. There are a total of two (2) disconnect protections every 24 hours. They will be reset to 2 at midnight EST of every day.
• Should it be suspected that a player is intentionally abusing his disconnect protection, there will be investigation and if it found that he was intentionally manipulating the disconnect protection to his advantage, he will be disqualified from that tournament. Management will investigate this and management’s decision is final.
• Although there are several ways to win prizes on Contest Poker, the main emphasis is to win tickets which can then be redeemed for prizes according to their ticket value in the prize redemption center.
• Management decisions are final.
• We reserve the right to change tournament schedules or rules at any time.
• Some of our online gaming sponsors’ prizes have cashout restrictions. Check the specific sponsor’s restrictions.
